2020 in Review

Oh 2020—what can we say? You sucked. You kept us from friends and family, made things more complicated, and caused stress on all fronts. But, you also made us take stock of what’s important, think outside of the box, and connect with our community in the name of supporting each other through a complete shit show. And, as we wrap what is hopefully the most challenging year of our lives, we wanted to step back and reflect on everything that was this year.

Celebrated Sourced Co.’s 2nd Business Birthday / In the midst of the craziest year, this crazy train kept chugging! We turned 2 in May and, though we all focused our attention on the Black Lives Matter protests instead of celebrating, it was an important milestone for us to reach.

Released 12 New Collections / Making sure that we delivered a new collection every month was definitely a feat this year. Keeping everyone involved safe and healthy was our first priority, which meant staying flexible and changing plans when needed. Which collections did you all seem to love the most? Work in Progress and Salt of the Earth!

Participated in 6 Events / Though our calendar of events pretty much got cancelled, we still had the chance to attend a couple before COVID really threw us all for a loop. And, throughout this year, we managed to be a part of some digital ones as well!

Collaborated with 2 Guest Designers / Even though we had to cancel our plans to work with Victoria Ann Events and Hey! Party Collective in-person, we are incredibly grateful that we were still able to bring their designs to life! Want to check out the collections they dreamed up for us? Have a peek at Lemonade and Gathered.

The Babies at Sourced Co. Got Older / We celebrated Maren’s 3rd, Winter’s 2nd, and Odette’s 1st birthdays!

My greatest challenge and joy of 2020 are one and the same. I never imagined I’d become a mama in isolation. First colic and then COVID. But, despite the loneliness that we’ve all had to face this year, I was able to stay grounded each day in my daughter’s smile, in her laughter, and our time together. Instead of living in the uncertainty, sadness, and chaos of 2020, I lived for porch hangs, bike rides, and beach time with my girl. I got to focus on the great and the good and the potential of what could be.” - Jen

“This year my challenge was becoming comfortable with uncertainty, saying goodbye to traveling, and not being able to hug people. On the flip side, the good stuff was the deep relationship our son has developed with his grandparents and extended family now that we have moved back to San Diego. And, of course, being able to be at photoshoots again!!!” - Christy

“The past 12 months have absolutely stretched me. From needing to be flexible and live in the grey area (things that I am not naturally good at) to somehow adding more balls to what I am juggling and trying to prioritize time for myself, I feel like 2020 challenged me in new ways that made me better overall. And, I will forever be thankful for the opportunity to spend so much time living in our Mammoth home—with more socially distanced mountain bike, climbing, and ski sessions than I could have dreamed of.” - Tayler

“My biggest challenges have been leaning into the unknown, letting go of plans and finding creative ways to safely shoot and keep creating together even when we couldn’t be together. But, my best memories are moving into a new space for our family! Even with this year being so upside down in so many ways and on so many levels, it’s been a safe haven for us to pull together and enjoy the little things and make happy memories together. Also in general the spirit of resiliency that this year has brought: in me, our team, our community, and beyond.” - Cassie

We could not be more thankful for all the support you have shown us this year—every like, comment, shop purchase, and membership is a continually humbling experience. So, especially this year, cheers to each of you, the best wishes for a prosperous new year, and all the hugs from the ladies here at Sourced Co.!
